Without the support of the generous people who give their time, resources and monetary assistance we would really be struggling to cover the care and veterinary expenses of the German Shepherds who have found themselves in an unfortunate situation. Below are those who support the work that we do.
If you would like to support us in any way or if you do already and are not listed below please Contact us.
Nose to Tail Dog Wash – situated in Bush Rd, Albany have been fantastic in their support to our rescue dogs. As you can imagine the state some of these dogs come into care is absolutely shocking and to be able to use the facilities provided by Kath and her team at Nose to Tail makes this so much easier on ourselves and the dogs. Some have needed extraordinary measures to get them looking anywhere near the magnificent breed they are and the friendly service, always managing to fit us in no matter how busy they are, shows their committement to these unfortunate dogs.
Our adoption numbers now over 970 with about 80% of them being bathed at Nose to Tail. Every single dog that we have taken through there for bathing has had their charges waived. That is fantastic support of German Shepherd Rescue and the dogs that begin their new lives.
I thank you every time Kath but it never seems adequate. You are the best. Your facility is the best, Your staff are the best and our rescue dogs think you are just the greatest.
Our grateful thanks to Bosch Pet NZ & Petworkz who have supported the German Shepherd Rescue Trust since it’s inception in 2003. For 3 years running they were the major sponsor for our rescue dog calendar, which has enabled us to use more of the sale profits directly for the dogs in need. Whenever we have a dog go into fostercare the team at Bosch waste now time in sending directly to the foster families door, the required food. I only have to tell Angela the condition the dog is in and leave it up to her expertise for the most suitable for it’s health and body condition. I am very appreciative of the time and generosity shown to us by Bosch and Petworkz.
Michelle Matheson from Canada for the treasured gift of Thunder’s collar (very special to me)
Jenny Miller for obedience support in Invercargill
Kathleen Kerr for Wanganui Home checks.
Paul Clark for airline crate.
Forrest Hill Veterinary Clinic, for being available so many times at very short notice. The dedicated Vets, Mike Small (GSDR Trustee), Kevin O’Meara, Louise Spence & Nursing Staff, particularly Kathy Waugh, are the most amazing people and we thank them for their continued support of the GSDs that come into their care.
Grateful thanks to Animates North Shore, Fleur & staff, for providing us with a venue to do monthly BBQ for fundraising to help boost the ever depleting funds of GSDR. We have also been given the opportunity at Animates Henderson and Botany Downs. On the first Saturday of each month you will see us down at Animates, Porana Rd, Glenfield cooking up our sausages and sharing our love for the GSD. We would love you to come and visit. The Animates staff are fantastic people and go that extra mile to help you take the best care of your pet.

Carly Simon)
